How much or how little of your birth is captured is up to you. At least 4 weeks before your estimated due date, I will schedule a phone or in person meeting to go over what aspects of the birth you are comfortable having photographed-this is when we will also go over any last minute questions, and I will explain when and what number to call. I will join you during active labour and stay for 1-2 hours postpartum. While I believe that sharing positive birth experiences is vital to changing the way the world sees birth, it is not a requirement for working with me. If you would like to keep your birth story private, I will respect that completely. For those that would like to share, I will have 5 web ready images for social media available within 24hours, along with a custom designed Facebook cover birth announcement within 1 week. Your birth story will be fully edited and ready to view within 4 weeks of the birth. Printed product may take up to 4 weeks from order date.
For my doula clients, I offer 2 prenatal and 1 postpartum visits, usually in your home, or at a location we decide upon together. During the prenatal appointments we can discuss your birth preferences, and I will make sure you have all the resources you need to feel ready for birth of your baby. On the day labour starts, I will join you within 1 hour of the call and stay 2 hours postpartum or until you feel settled. I may come and go as needed in the earlier stages of labour, as long as you feel well supported. Use of my TENS machine is also available to all of my doula clients. The postpartum visit will take place within the first week following the birth. I offer additional breastfeeding support, past the initial postpartum visit if needed.
This work is sacred to me, and I am committed to being there for my clients during this incredible experience. I will be on call 24/7 from 38 weeks to birth and I work with an amazing back up in the event that I am unable to attend for reasons beyond my control. I will only take clients for both birth doula and photography when my clients understand that my role as their doula is my first priority- What good are beautiful photos of your birth if you felt under supported and out of control during the process? All of my wedding packages include high resolution digital files and a complimentary engagement session. Stunning, one of a kind heirloom print products are also available as an add on to any package. Because I believe beautiful moments should be shared, I always post a sneak peak within 48 hours. All my wedding clients enjoy a full blog post within 4 weeks, to share with friends and family and all images will be delivered within 6 weeks. Due to my work in birth, I only take wedding clients in the summer months. I am currently booking for 2015 and beyond. I photograph my clients where they feel most comfortable so I can capture all the qualities that make them unique. Lifestyle sessions take place anywhere in Vancouver’s lower mainland and I don’t mind going on an adventure to get the right shot- so get creative with your location choice! The session fee includes my time and talent of either 30 minutes (for the mini) or 1 hour long (for the full portrait). For the best light I recommend scheduling your session just before sunset or early in the morning. Lifestyle sessions are perfect for families, singles, couples, and kids. The session covers up to 5 people, but if you have a large family- that’s fine too just add $35/per each additional person. Once all of the best images are edited (within 2 weeks) I will come to your home or a location of your choice for an in person ordering session, where you will choose what you would like to purchase from the session, including a wide variety of one of a kind heirloom print products, and digital packages to suit your needs.
